Conflict Resolution Policy

Effective Date: July 1st, 2024

At The Poet House, we are committed to building a community grounded in care, creativity, and accountability. We know that conflict can happen, and when it does, we handle it with compassion, clarity, and respect.

Our Approach
We follow a three-step process to address concerns:

  1. Self-Resolution
Whenever possible, we encourage individuals to talk directly with one another to clear up misunderstandings with honesty and care.

  2. Mediation
If needed, we offer a neutral facilitator to help guide a respectful conversation between those involved.

  3. Formal Review
For serious or repeated concerns, or if direct communication doesn’t feel safe or effective, a formal review is conducted by a designated leader. Appropriate action or repair is taken based on the situation.

How to Report a Concern

All submissions are reviewed promptly and confidentially by The Poet House leadership and/or a conflict resolution liaison.

Zero Tolerance for Harm
Harassment, abuse, discrimination, or threats of any kind are not welcome in our spaces. Violations may lead to removal from events, programs, or leadership roles in order to preserve community safety.

Restorative Options
When appropriate, we offer paths for healing and accountability, including:

  • Restorative circles

  • Collaborative repair plans

  • Mediated apologies

  • Support check-ins and reintegration options

We Are Here for You
You don’t need to navigate concerns alone. For support or follow-up, contact our conflict liaison, Dee Miller, at sdmiller@connectedcreations.org

You are welcome here. You are protected here. We will work to hold that promise.
